The Forester stands head and shoulders above the
competition in many ways, but among the most significant stand-out features
include the brand's unique symmetrical all-wheel drive
system and its SUBARU BOXER® engine. Read on to
learn a little more about each; then, stop by our showroom at your earliest

Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive on the New Subaru
Forester:
One of the biggest draws of all
Subaru models is that all-wheel drive is a standard feature across the entirety
of the brand's lineup, no matter which trim level you're shopping. But the
brand's AWD system is not your typical all-wheel-drive setup. Unlike AWD on
other compact SUVs out there, the Forester uses symmetrical all-wheel drive
which flows power to all wheels simultaneously for maximized traction. The
system is also intelligent enough to assess the road conditions, and if the
road is wet, will intuitively send power to the wheels achieving the best
traction for most effective terrain tackling.
The result is markedly improved handling even in
tricky conditions, and ultimately, a more confidence-inspiring ownership
experience for you!
The Subaru Forester--and all other models in the
lineup--are designed from the start to all-wheel-drive capable. The components
are aligned accordingly, allow for a most symmetrical layout which in turn,
yields efficiency, power, balance, and control.
SUBARU BOXER® Engine on the New Subaru
Forester:
At the heart of each and every new Subaru is its
infamous SUBARU BOXER® engine. It's horizontally moving pistons lay
flatter than those found in engines from other automakers, resulting in a lower
center of gravity for greater control, particularly when cornering. The flat
layout also allows for a more linear flow of power produced, which makes for
better fuel economy in the long haul. That's why even though all Subaru models
like the Forester have standard all-wheel drive systems, they still manage to
get some of industry's best fuel ratings!
