2014 Subaru Impreza Compared to the 2013 Honda Civic
Our friendly and knowledgeable sales specialists at Rimrock Subaru are excited to show you the all-new 2014 Subaru Impreza. The 2014 Impreza offers a number of really great options and features that help set it apart from other vehicles in its class.Safety
With Subaru, safety is a top priority, and the Impreza is no exception. The Impreza comes standard with all-wheel drive, which means you'll have ultimate traction in adverse driving conditions such as snow and ice. The 2013 Honda Civic does not offer all-wheel drive. And some models of the Subaru Impreza have an optional backup monitor, which will help you to see and avoid obstacles behind you when backing up. There are no parking assist systems available for the Civic.
Engine
Standard on the 2014 Impreza is a 2.0 liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine, which will provide you with 8 more horsepower than the Civic's 1.8 VTEC 4-cylinder engine, 148hp vs. 140hp. The Impreza also offers 17 more lbs.-ft. of torque, 145-lbs.-ft. vs. 128-lbs.-ft., than the Civic. And with the boxer engine in the Impreza you'll get a flat cylinder configuration, which creates a lower center of gravity and provides you with better handling stability. The Honda Civic does not offer a boxer engine.
Fuel Range
The Subaru Impreza offers a fuel capacity of 14.5 gallons, which is 1.3 gallons more than the Civic's 13.2 gallons, meaning the Impreza has a longer range between stops at the gas pump.

In Popular Mechanics' emergency lane change maneuver the Impreza was faster than the Civic, performing it at 60.23 MPH compared to the Honda Civic EX Sedan's 59.6 MPH. And with a turning circle of 34.8 feet, the Impreza offers better maneuverability than the Civic Sedan's 35.4 feet.
